About Legacy Land Care

Meet John Mulkey, the man on the machine.

Legacy Land Care is the owner-operated company of John Mulkey, a Cave Spring farm kid turned Air Force veteran who now clears, grades, and reshapes land across Rome and Northwest Georgia. When you hire Legacy, he is the one who shows up and runs the iron.

Where it started

Raised on a Cave Spring farm

John Mulkey has been around heavy equipment for as long as he can remember. He grew up on a cattle farm in Cave Spring, Georgia, and while most kids were still learning to ride a bike, he was already helping work the family's hundred acres.

Running a farm that size teaches you things a classroom never will. You learn to read the ground and the weather. You learn to fix what breaks, because the work does not stop and wait on anyone. You learn that a job is not done until it is actually done. That upbringing, hands on a tractor and boots in the dirt, is where the Legacy Land Care standard comes from.

Service

What the Air Force sharpened

In 2018, John left the farm to serve in the United States Air Force. He earned his wings as aircrew and spent his service in the air, a long way from a Georgia hay field.

The Air Force took the work ethic the farm built and put a harder edge on it. Show up early. Account for every detail. Do the job right the first time, because people are counting on it. Those are not words on a wall for John. They are habits, and he brought every one of them home.

Legacy Land Care

Home, and his own iron

When his service was done, John came home to Northwest Georgia to do the thing he had always been best at: working the land. In November 2025 he founded Legacy Land Care LLC and put his own name on it.

Today he runs his own equipment, a CAT 275XE compact track loader, a forestry mulcher, and an excavator, and he is the one on the controls. No crew of strangers, no call center. You talk to the person doing the work, from the first walkthrough to the last pass of the bucket.

The name was a deliberate choice. A legacy is what you leave behind, and John treats every property like it will carry his.

Our promise to you

Doing things the right way

At Legacy Land Care, we believe your property should reflect your vision, not its limitations. The company was built on hard work, integrity, and the belief that every project deserves to be treated like it is our own. Whether we are reclaiming overgrown land, building a driveway, preparing a house pad, improving drainage, or turning a property from unusable to unforgettable, the goal is simple. Deliver quality work that lasts, and earn your trust along the way.

What sets Legacy Land Care apart is a commitment to doing things the right way. We show up when we say we will, communicate honestly, and take pride in every detail from start to finish. Your land is more than dirt and trees. It is where you will build memories, grow your family, start a business, or leave something behind for the next generation. That is why we work to help you get the most out of it, with dependable service, professional equipment, and craftsmanship you can count on.

When you choose Legacy Land Care, you are choosing a company that values people just as much as the work itself.
